The original cottage is thought to date from the 18th century but only three of those original walls remain in the residents' lounge. The building was comprehensively refurbished and extended in 1997. The accommodation is extremely flexible and presented to a high standard throughout. The ground floor and first floor have access for disabled visitors with double doors to all main areas. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the home.

The exterior of the house was refurbished in 2025 and all the rooms are maintained on a rolling programme.

All the bedrooms are individually decorated and all come with reclining chairs, electric profiling beds and occasional furnishings. Residents and are welcome to bring their own furniture, pictures and belongings to make them feel more at home.
